APPLICATION AND USE
Rolling Mall Dawn Grille doors are manufactured by Alpine Overhead Doors,
Inc. The Mall Dawn door offers security and protection as well as the ability
to isually observe what is behind the door when it is fully closed. The Mall
Dawn is ideal for use in Malls where vendors can advertise their products
when the store is closed while consumers can visually see their products on
display. Also used for store fronts, display cases, and ventilation areas.
GENERAL
Opening preparation, miscellaneous or structural metal work, access doors,
finish or field painting, field electrical wiring, wire, conduit, fuses and disconnect
switches are in the Scope of Work of other divisons or trades.
CURTAIN/GRILLE ASSEMBLY
Curtain construction consists of Alpine’s 9” Straight Pattern, with all exposed
material to be aluminum. The continuous horizontal rods, spaced 2” o.c., are
covered with tubular spacers that are 5/16” solid. Continuous end links are
designed to prevent the curtain from leaving the side of the guide rails. The
bottom of the grille is provided with an extruded aluminum “T” bottom bar.
BRACKET PLATES
Steel plate not less than 1/4” thick. Drive end bracket plate is fitted with a
sealed ball bearing. Bracket Plates support the counterbalance assembly
and form an end enclosure.
GUIDES
Guides are made of extruded aluminum sections with wood pile runners.
Provided with removable bellmouth curtain stops to allow for curtain maintenance
without removal of the guides. Bellmouth stops shall be flush with the
guide groove.
COUNTERBALANCE ASSEMBLY: TORSION SPRING
Are housed in a steel pipe of a diameter and a wall thickness that will restrict
maximum deflection to 0.03” per foot of door width. Springs are a helical
torsion type designed to include an overload factor of 25%
for optimum ease of operation. The springs are grease packed
and mounted on a cold rolled steel inner shaft. Spring tension is adjustable
from the outside of the end bracket plate. Sealed ball bearings are present
to minimize wear on the pipe shaft as it rotates around the inner shaft.
HOOD GALVANIZED (OPTION: Square, Hexagon or Round)
Made from#24 ga. steel formed to fit the contour of the brackets. 3/8” thick
intermediate supports are provided to prevent excessive sag.
(Finish Options: phosphate, baked enamel or powder coated)
