Frequently Asked Questions

Can I buy directly from you?
Commercial dealers and installers may buy directly from us. End users may then purchase and have a door installed by door professionals, who will help select a door that’s perfect for your particular application.

Are multiple colors available. Can a counter door be painted or powder coated?
It depends on the curtain. Flats slat roll up counter doors can be painted in 188 colors, and are also available as pre-painted white, grey or tan. For grilles, components such as the hood and guides may be powder coated. If you’re still unsure what options are available, please contact-us with your questions.

Which operation type should I choose?
Counter doors are available in push-up, hand chain, or motor operation. The ideal choice depends on the specific application. Factors such as overall size, how often the door is cycled, and other considerations should be made before choosing what’s best.

Which type of roll up counter door is best for my need?
This depends on several factors. If airflow is required, we suggest using a grille or perforated-slat door. If maximum security is needed, and airflow are not much of a concern, then flat slat is your best options. Certain uses will require a fire-rated door. Here, you have a choice between conventional and auto resettable, and also have a range of fire rating options including 3/4 hour, 1-1/2 hour, and 3 hour.

What’s the maximum dimensions for a counter door?
This depends on the style you choose, with standard flat-slat doors available as large as 18″x8″. For larger applications, a service door or other rolling door may be more appropriate.

I need a drawing for a custom counter door. Can you provide one?
Yes. We’re happy to provide a custom CAD drawing to your specifications. You may request one here. General drawings are available for each model and mounting condition under the “Drawing Details” tab.
